I'm a photographer shooting for a utility contractor. We do work in the power and gas industry and then tons of varying work under those two umbrellas, transmission, distribution, underground, solar, etc. I'm shooting a project or two each week. I use Lightroom currently for my editing needs and use some loose tags to keep track of everything. The issue is becoming is different departments are asking for photos for bids, for flyers, for their own employees (who doesn't want some new instagram shots) and whatever else is coming up. I'd love to be able to upload approved photography and have it searchable by tags. We're not opposed to using something like google or Flickr, but not sure if t

This app would be very cool if it worked right. I have to try between one and five times to create an album until it succeeds, usually it says failed, and when I upload pictures it fails saying I'm unauthorized but only sometimes. Other times it uploads the pictures but resizes them to 5x5, so they're all blurry. Every now and then I can get it to work properly. I've tried nuking my piwigo installation on my server but no luck. Am I the only one? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but I hope I am because this app would be very cool if it worked 100% of the time.

I have trouble anytime I have to select something from a list. The list selection gets in the way of going to the next item, and the previous an next buttons generally don't work because they are placed over the selection field and the app instead changes your selection rather than allowing the buttons to work. You also can't tap outside of a selection field to exit it. This app is still operation in early beta mode from all the interface bugs I run into. I hope they update it to address these bugs.

I am running a production photo archive using Piwigo, where images are regularly uploaded over FTP in large batches. This is a common and efficient workflow for high volume environments, especially when uploads are automated or handled by external systems. The core issue is that Piwigo still lacks a reliable and maintained mechanism for automatic synchronization of newly uploaded files. After uploading images via FTP, the gallery does not reflect changes unless a manual sync is triggered. For an active photo bank, this is not practical. There are a few existing tools and plugins that attempt to address this, but they appear to be abandoned. Some have not seen updates in close to nine years

Piwigo has a lot of features built in and can be extended using plugins. I think where Piwigo really shines is In it’s ability to be more privacy focused. Purchasing hosting provided by the group behind Piwigo themselves is a great way to support the company and the product they have made, but you also have the option to self host all your photos and link the app to that computer. Some other great features built into the app itself is the ability to strip the uploaded photos of metadata which is also nice in not sharing location data and other information if for lets say a family member posts one of your shared photos online. Very user-friendly and I love knowing my pictures are backed up in another place. I also love that I can delete the picture in my phone but still view it in the app and even download it back onto my phone if I want.

How to best photograph subjects that reflect the sun?

I'm hoping folks will have some good suggestions for me on how to capture good photos of subjects that are reflective in nature. I'm sure lots of folks have seen the very awkward (and NSFW) pictures of various ebay listings of stuff that reflected the photographer, but this is more about the subject reflecting lots of sunshine back at you, versus you appearing in the shot. A specific example that I am dealing with, is Amtrak passenger cars. The cars' skin is stainless steel, so it reflects the sun like nobody's business, giving me a hard time in trying to capture the car without a huge bright spot. Here's an example of the issue [here](http://www.richmond-terminal.org/piwigo/_data/i/upload/2

I am looking for a system for a friend who is a photographer. I do not really know anything at all about the concepts needed and many of the websites i have found aren't too specific with features/benefits aside from really generic claims. The way it was described to me is he takes pictures for people and needs to upload them to the website. There on

The app works as advertised. The only issue is that some user-management plugins might prevent the app from logging in. Otherwise a great and handy app! Recommended.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this latest release of Piwigo that supports apps like this. It was really easy to log in to my personal gallery using this app and uploads are quick and simple. The feature I would most ask for next is to support tag editing on upload. So far all you can do is define a name and description. I'm pretty excited to see how this website and app advance and hoping to ween off sites like Flickr due to this self hosting awesomeness.
