CANT UPLOAD EXISTING PHOTOS!

it’s a great app, but you can only save photos to the app by using the app itself. you can’t upload previously taken photos. very disappointing.

I saw this app mentioned in a Reddit post about clouds and love collecting apps to identify aspects of the natural world, but was severely disappointed to realize that I cannot upload already existing photos onto the app to identify clouds on. I live in an area with a semi-common occurrence of Asperitas clouds, and wanted to document the times I’ve caught it on camera. However, I cannot do that as I can’t upload old pictures. Very disappointing and I guess I’ll just delete the app because I have little use for it in the summer.

Can’t submit photos easily
themes: Mobile app, Sync and backup, Upload and import · rating: 2 · relevance: 0.9
This app used to be amazing but it no longer allows you to submit photos taken earlier or with another camera this means if you have a professional camera or even if you want to use the camera settings on your phone, you can’t. You are required to take the photo within the app, which gives you more limited camera functions, and categorize the cloud in that moment. This transition happened without warning while I was traveling internationally. I was disappointed when I returned home that I couldn’t upload any of my cloud photos from my trip.

Almost great, but has serious issues
themes: Mobile app, Reliability and bugs, Search, AI, and discovery, Sync and backup · rating: 2 · relevance: 0.9
This app has the potential to be a great cloud spotting app. However, it has what appears to be a serious bug. When spotting clouds, it does not save what you’ve spotted. There is a location in the app to view spotted clouds, but no matter how you spot/identify a cloud, they never are saved to the app. Aside from that, there is a serviceable ai cloud identifier in the app, but this often misidentifies. For learners, this can be frustrating. Additionally, there does not seem to be any user community on the app. In other words, you cannot view other users clouds, or have another user identify your cloud. All together, this app sort of works but has some serious issues.

Can’t Report Clouds

Im a huge fan and member of the CAS, but this app has a flaw / error in that it doesn’t let you report spotted clouds. The developers need to fix it.

This app seems like a deliberate attempt to misinform the public about chem trails, calling them contrails.

Love this app. It is missing some clouds like roll/rotor clouds and scud clouds, which I would like to ID. I wish the reviewers could suggest a cloud type when it is rejected, and that both parties could leave a note. Ex: this is near an ocean. Or “see top right”. I also wish I could change the date/location for clouds I uploaded too late (and therefore can’t get verified)- bugs me that they aren’t accurate in my collection.

Could be better
themes: Mobile app, Performance, Proofing and studio workflow, Sync and backup, Upload and import · rating: 3 · relevance: 0.9
This app is interesting and educational but too restrictive. Users should be able to add photos from their picture library, not just photos taken with the app - because the app can be slow, and if you’re not near Wi-Fi or have poor cellular service it won’t work at all. I’ve been unable to submit several of my cloud sightings because of this. So disappointing. Users should also be able to correct the selected cloud type (identification) if the “verification” process has marks it as incorrect!

I was hoping this would be the iNaturalist app for clouds but as is it has some major flaws holding it back. The biggest problem is the only photos you can use are ones taken directly in the app. Imagine the amount of community science data you could accumulate if you can add in older photos as long as you know the date/time/location! The cloud karma is also an interesting feature but it punishes new users who know nothing about clouds and most likely encourages mis-identifications. Finally it would be nice to know if the photos are actually being used for science in meaningful ways. Published papers, new identified cloud types, etc. just something to know that uploading photos is contributi

Good for the pictures and IDs -that’s it
themes: Login and access, Mobile app, Sync and backup · rating: 3 · relevance: 0.9
If you want to enjoy the pictures and to identify clouds and optical effects, this is great. If you actually want to participate in the society, this is terrible. There is no info under the profile. You can’t see your groups at all, or get your messages. It’s also a huge PITA to log in (why do I have to log in to the app? It isn’t like this is my bank).

I understand that they don’t allow users to upload photos since it would allow people to cheat, but it ought to allow users to modify their spotting. I saw a Sun Dog and, in my haste, put it as a Sun Pillar. It’s wrong so I had to just take a picture of my picture to get my points—I should be allowed to revise the cloud spotted option.

I’m fairly new to cloud identifying, and this app has a plethora of information! I’ve had a blast “spotting” and recording clouds in the app. Other than being a little laggy, I’ve experienced no bugs. I recommend!

Creating a basic business website to showcase a gallery of my best work and an about page + contact form?
themes: Mobile app, Search, AI, and discovery, Sharing and galleries, Sync and backup · rating: · relevance: 1
Hello everyone. I’m looking for the best way to go about creating a simple gallery website showcasing my work, along with an about me page and contact form. Not client galleries, just examples of my best work along with an about page and contact form. I would like to be able to put an actual basic website (example: www . samplewebsite . com) on my business cards, social media, etc. to make it look more professional. No subdomains or anything like that, just the website. I currently use cloudspot for everything else, which manages all of that just fine. I know you can use your own domain with pixieset, but I just prefer cloudspot for managing projects, etc. I am pretty tech savvy, but I

Delivering your photos for clients

Hello fellow redditors I was searching how to delivery my photoshots, I really love the gallery design and UI/UX from pixieset. There is just one problem, I mostly work based on android (it's easier to transport, etc, etc). Maybe not my best call haha. And you can only upload on Pixieset from desktop. Is there a bypass to this device limitation? If not, what are some recommendations with similar gallery design. Also interested in using my, already hosted, custom domain. CloudSpot seems like a good option but the gallery design IMO isnt quite at it.

Best all-in-one CRM? Sprout Studio vs Pixieset
themes: Editing and image quality, Pricing and value, Proofing and studio workflow, Search, AI, and discovery, Sharing and galleries, Support, Sync and backup · rating: · relevance: 1
Hi, I'm having decision making paralysis. I can't seem to find a perfect all-in-one photography business management software / CRM. I have done a tonne of research, having looked in depth at over 10 different softwares and I have boiled it down to Sprout Studio and Pixieset because these are relatively simple softwares with a lot of features. CloudSpot offer an attractive free plan but unfortunately they don't offer auto print fulfilment in UK / Europe. Any help? What's the best option for a starting photographer that wants to be able to scale? Any other software feel free to share.

I like the app a lot, but I really wish you could put a pin on the cloud picture to add multiple labels of cloud types. Because often times, there are multiple types of clouds in one picture. With the current app each picture can only have one label.
